With love,

Manie & Abigail

Our Love Story

(a.k.a. the story of how we accidentally fell in love)

Once upon a time, Abigail was done with love.
Like, "delete the dating apps, tell your friends not to even try setting you up, and start planning your solo travels" kind of done. Her heart had taken enough knocks, and she was more than happy focusing on things that didn’t require emotional risk — like snacks, slippers, and sleep.

Then came one random night out…

Dragged (against her will) by friends for "just one drink," Abigail ended up at a busy little spot with decent music and questionable lighting. Across the room was Manie — long hair, soft eyes, and that look that says, “I’ve been through some stuff, but I’m still here.” He wasn’t trying to impress anyone. He was just vibing… and maybe wondering why he came out at all.

Thanks to a mutual friend (who now takes full credit for this relationship), they ended up talking. And surprisingly, it wasn’t awkward. There were no cheesy pickup lines. Just real conversation. Honest, raw, a little broken — but weirdly comforting.

No sparks. No butterflies. Just… a strange sense of “Huh. You’re different.”

What started as casual conversation turned into long chats, late-night laughs, inside jokes, and sharing snacks without asking. Somewhere between “we’re just talking” and “this isn’t a date, right?” they found something neither of them expected: peace, healing, and the kind of love that sneaks up on you when you're definitely not looking.

We didn’t plan this. We didn’t see it coming.
But somehow, two tired hearts found home in each other.

While Abigail went home thinking, “Well, that was surprisingly nice,”
Manie walked through his front door, looked at his mom, and said:
“I just met my wife.”

Now we’re getting married — still laughing, still surprised, and still arguing over who made the first move...

John 13:34

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
